As part of measures for the safe reopening of the Polytechnic, the Management of Federal Polytechnic, Ukana has inaugurated a Covid-19 Protocol Monitoring and Enforcement Committee to ensure compliance with National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) prevention protocols.

The Rector of the institution, Dr. Uduak Sunday Ukekpe while performing the inauguration said the Management of the Polytechnic was poised to ensure a safe teaching and learning environment as the school was preparing to reopen for academic activities soon.

He said management has taken steps towards protecting the health of both staff and students of the institution. According to the don, some of the measures taken include the “no mask, no entry” policy on campus, provision of some pharmacological and non pharmacological facilities .
He charged members of the committee to ensure compliance with the use of nose mask, observance of safe distancing, regular hand washing as well as use of hand sanitizers.

Responding, the Chairman of the Committee, Mrs Boma Aaron thanked Management for selecting them for such sensitive assignment and pledged on behalf of the committee to justify the confidence reposed in them. She promised to work hard to guarantee a safe campus.

The event had in attendance the Registrar, Dr. Okon J. Ekanem, the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Mercy Ebong, and the acting Head of Works, Mr. Imo Okoji and committee members.
