
RECTOR WARNS STUDENTS AGAINST CULTISM, EXAM MALPRACTICE… as Fed Poly Ukana holds 5th Matriculation Ceremony

The Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ukana Dr Uduak S. Ukekpe has warned students of the institution against indulging in cultism, exam malpractice and other anti-social activities.
The Polytechnic boss stated this on the occasion of the 5th Matriculation ceremony held on the 24th of November, 2020 at the Engineering Lecture Hall, Main Campus, Ukana.
Dr. Ukekpe implored the newly admitted students to be diligent, hardworking and focused on academics during the 2019/2020 academic session. In his words: “I advice you to be law abiding, shun cultism, face your studies squarely, live harmoniously with other students and staff and obey the rules and regulations of the polytechnic,” he stressed. He said Management will not hesitate to sanction any student whose behaviour and conduct runs contrary to laid down rules and regulations of the institution.
The Rector disclosed that the Polytechnic has put in place facilities that would make teaching and learning process easy for students and lecturers through a well-equipped digital Library that would help students with their studies both online and offline . He also hinted that the Polytechnic is a work in progress with many of the Lecture complexes and other structures at the Main Campus at various stages of completion.
There were goodwill messages from Obong University, Obong Ntak, Etim Ekpo LGA and JAMB. The VC was represented by Dr. Godwin Mbong while the Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of JAMB, Mr Joseph Oboh represented JAMB.
About 47 students were formally accepted into the Polytechnic to study for an award of National Diploma (ND) in Computer Science and Statistics.
